Sign the Petition

Currently 20 of our youth are registered to vote!

Please sign our petition to the Prime Minister to demand a non-mandatory vote for 13-17year olds. Click here for more info The most potent form of discrimination and prejudice today is against our youth. It is time that politicians listened, our society paid attention and our kids were heard. They are our future and they deserve a real voice, in a real democracy they deserve a vote.

JackStraunyes of course - why cant kids vote, they have more of a conscience than adults who are just voting for their own money interests.

Jodie BrabinThe Youth of Australia are just as influenced by politics as those who decide who is in power. Not only that but we are just as aware of the effect policies put in place will have on us and our future. You are creating the world for us yet we have no choice in how it is made, we deserve to have the choice to vote!
TomDegnanI dont really like you but you are the pm so other ppl must like u

JaniceHowardI have taught many young people who would be much more capable of voting than many adults who do not give time or energy to considering the issues.
SarahBurgWhilst I feel that some of the youth may not be mature enough to make some of the very important decisions, I believe that their opinions should be heard as what happens today effects them tomorrow!

ClareNthe youth of australia are more informed than you think... we deserve to vote just as much as any other citizen of this country. By the time the next election comes around I will be over eighteen, but plenty more people won't be and I think if you're passionate about this country, no matter what your age, you should be able to have a say in its future.
