Prime Minister Howard is the classic
'one of those kids at school', who tells one lie, gets some attention
and figures it's an easy ride to success. Consequently to try and
find just one lie where it all started seems a little feeble, his
time as Prime Minister has been one big lie, viciously circling
around and around in a magnificent tornado of bulls..t. But lets
start with this beauty from 1995 - "Increasingly, honesty [in
politics] is being swamped by cynical election campaigns based on
fear, or the big scare, or the massive lie". How about, after characterizing
Saddam as a mass murderer and torturer, Howard locked up Iraqi asylum seekers
in detention centres? Or Howard's claim that refugee seekers threw

Very tough to know where to start. He
is the original 'pants on fire' - allegedly falsifying election
results, murdering political opponents (or anyone else for that
matter), stealing farms etc. We think his reputation precedes him
and it is of little necessity to state it again here.

Well
you can't go past the 'Iraqi nuclear capability', that one even
surprised George W.
“Iraq has chemical and biological weapons” and that,
“Saddam has continued to produce them”. “He
has existing and active military plans for the use of chemical and
biological weapons, which could be activated within 45 minutes”. “In
addition, we know Saddam has been trying to buy significant
quantities of uranium from Africa”. "Iraq has chemical and biological
weapons”
Downing Street has admitted to The Observer that repeated claims by
[British prime minister] Tony Blair that "400,000 bodies had been
found in Iraqi mass graves" is [sic. are] untrue, and only about
5,000 corpses have so far been uncovered.

Forget about it! There are websites on websites about Bush's lies.
Michael Moore has books and films out about those lies. But here's a start - “The Iraq regime continues
to possess and conceal some of the most lethal weapons ever
devised”. “[Iraq] has aided, trained and harboured terrorists,
including operatives of Al Qaeda”. “America tried to work with the
United Nations to address this threat because we wanted to resolve
the issue peacefully”. “As our coalition takes their power, we will
deliver the food and medicine you need”. “We will tear down the
apparatus of terror and we will help you to build a new Iraq that is
prosperous and free”. “The terrorist threat to America and the world
will be diminished the moment that Saddam Hussein is disarmed”. “We
are now acting because the risks of inaction would be far greater.
In one year, or five years, the power of Iraq to inflict harm on all
free nations would be multiplied many times over.”
